Steel Calculator

Steel calculator – using it, you can estimate the approximate weight of rods and sheets.

How to calculate steel weight?

The mass of steel per m3 ranges between 7,500–7,900 kg depending on the steel grade. The weight of a rod is calculated using the formula PI * radius squared * length * steel density. This simple steel converter allows us to estimate the weight of steel for most types of metals.

Steel may contain varying percentages of characteristic elements depending on the grade. Therefore, it is not possible to define a single formula that determines the exact weight of all steel types. Even minor changes in chemical composition can make a significant difference at large tonnages.
